Discrepancy in valve clearance instructions, 1982 300d

1982 300D

Okay, I'm adjusting my valves.

Both ************** and diesel giant say to adjust the exhaust valve clearance to 0.300 mm. However, the sticker on my car says 0.35mm for the "exhaust valve lash." Yes, both readings are for under 30 degrees C. The sticker concurrs with both ************** and diesel giant for the intake valve clearance, with all being 0.100mm.

So, is my car sticker correct at 0.35mm clearance on the exhaust valve (under 30C), or is it actually supposed to be 0.300mm?

Thanks,

Pete.

I am not an expert on this but based on expert advice given to me:

That is a negligible difference, .30 to .35. You can open them to .35 and be fine. I have gone with the sticker on my car as a guide and been fine.

Sounds like an expert answer that I had not heard until now--take his advice over mine.

It's a turbo exhaust...thanks!

I finished off the intakex and exhaust on the first cylinders...had to pack it up once snow started to appear in the air....
