It's those guys who dye the Diesel fuel

Found this snoopin on the web...They put the dye in fuel for tax enforcement. Booooo,

Resolv Corporation is one of the few global producers and suppliers of liquid dyes for primarily gasoline, but also aircraft and diesel fuels, liubricants, hydraulic fluids, high boiling distillates and grease.

From identifying sources and tax enforcement to the detection of leaks, the uses of our liquid dyes are numerous. These liquid dyes are typically added to gasoline between 6 - 20 ppm, but can be added at higher concentrations without affecting performance.
Our dyes are virtually identical to similar dyes sold by other producers in the petroleum industry and therefore can be substituted without disrupting performance or operations.

Our dyes have underwent significant technical advancements and are better than most of the competitors. We supply a complete spectrum of colors and blends with custom match facilities. Our color lab is fully equippd to meet all your needs.

Resonol dyes are sold worldwide through a wide array of our distributors and agents around the globe. We have been selling for over a decade in North American, Mexico, South America, Middle East, Far East, Europe and Australia.

The dyes are typically packed in 109 kgs and 200 kgs drums and can be made in a wide range of solvents.

We also specialise in solvent dyes in powder form for plastic and smoke coloration, inks and specialty applications.

If you are using color, we have to talk. We are just an e mail or phone call away. Call us now. You will be glad you did.

We normally keep a stock of most liquid dyes and can supply within a short notice.COAs, MSDS can be provided upon request.

Our satellite offices are in India and United Arab Emirates.

Imagine how big the potholes would get if there was no tax money to pay someone to fill them...

Would you rather pay for repair with tolls?

Oh good point. You must either be in favor of fuel taxes or work for the DOT.

I put this up as an FYI....but I think there is already plenty of tax $$$ that goes to waste.

Problem is most of the fuel tax is not spent on the roads....if it was we would have a wonderful highway system around here.

Most fuel tax goes for interstates and highways, but not municipal roads and city streets, those are paid for by the municipal general operating budgets, which are fed from property, income and sales tax. They are maintained out of different budgets, and by different people.

I know this, because a common argument against road-rights for cyclists is, "You don't pay fuel tax, so you shouldn't get to use the road." The answer of course is, "Fuel tax doesn't pay for city streets, income and property tax do, which I pay as much as you."

Anyway, I have no problem with taxes in general, or tolls, actually. The 470 circle highway in Colorado is toll supported, and we probably wouldn't have gotten it without the tolls, so it is actually paid for by the people who use it, instead of the people who don't (at least mostly). It IS a handy road though, I use it all the time.

peace,
sam
