I wish the pictures were clearer...I always try to make my DIY pages as super clear as possible.

Blurry pics are just difficult :P :D

Try dissasembling with one hand, holding the camera with the other hand..

I didn't want to get my better 1/2 involved....

I thought it was for the site impaired;). I too play heck with the camera shots and have always wondered if the latest/greatest digital SLR would fix alot of my issues. The hardest shot with my existing camera was getting a dash out shot of the 300D while shooting from the back seat. Something about the automatic focus never coming in. I never did get a steady green light and the pics are out of focus. I'm open for any suggestions in this matter:).

My wife told me to NEVER ask her to get involved in messing with automobiles EVER again:eek:. I think the last stray was when she pulled the '81 300D with a plugged tank screen from Byron, Ga to Warner Robins, Ga. She gave a good tow job:).

Interesting article. I just had mine out last week. Unfortunately mine has a sealed motor. No long screws to take it apart. It must be a replacement from a PO.

Brandon314159 12-12-2005 08:31 PM

Must be one of those "high quality" new generation replacements...ie...not serviceable...

boneheaddoctor 12-12-2005 09:06 PM

the original one in my W116 was siezed...the screws broke off when I tried to take it appart....I ended up tossing it in the trash...

I wonder if people really ref these DIY pages..

its a shame they take a lot of time to do. I'm rebuilding an 85 300D automatic next month....sometimes you just want to rush ahead and not document the thing...

My pump makes noises when its cold (like when its 10 degrees and I put the key into glow I can hear it making strange sounds, but if the coolant is warmer, it hums quietly. I hope it survives for a while yet, we have the 83's out, and it appears the prev owner replaced the whole assembly, pump & monovalve with brand new. Very cool.

Thanks for the write up. It's filed away for future use, not too far in the future though.

A lot of us read the DIY pages...trust me!

Also I can imagine you would want to rush ahead and get the damn tranny done...after all...fingers covered with ATF is not a prime time to take time out to take pictures :)
