Road Trip!!!

Hey all,

I've just purchased a '92 500E in southern Alabama so one of my mechanics and I are heading down from Cincinnati on the 26th to pick the car up and our method of transit is the battle wagon '75 300D that I've had at the shop sitting out in the back lot for months and months. It's condition is kind of a grey area. It is restorable but it is also a great donor car to keep another one going. Well, either way, we've serviced it, slapped a little "Kentucky chrome" on here and there (those in the know will understand what I mean) and are going to venture down to pick the 500E up. Now, here's the kicker: I DO NOT want to bring the car back up here. So the plan is either to junk it somewhere down there or maybe some kind soul down in (or near) Enterprise, Alabama would like to buy it for $200 (gas money for the 500E) . A testament will be whether or not it makes it (the tranny is slipping badly), but the engine is strong. It started in 20 degree Ohio weather tonight after sitting outside since about August. Let's see, the windows are not working, neither is the heat (we'll count on ram air heat for the ride). Suspension is pretty worn but the car does have some useful spares here and there, particularly the engine. It's DB423 Tobacco Brown with Palomino MB-Tex. Interior is pretty well shot, although the door panels are ok.

Any takers??? Free delivery!

You can call me at (513) 519-7302 (mobile) if you'd like to discuss it.

What's the story with the 500E? They are interesting cars! I spent alot of time and money getting mine back up to shape.. did everything myself. Putting your foot to the floor and having the M119 plant you deep in the seat makes it all worth it in the end

Interior is actually brown, not palomino. Most everything you'd want is not too great. I pulled the Europa, don't know its condition though, wasn't hooked up when I got the car. Speaker cover is shot. No passenger mirror. I'm basically looking to get rid of the whole car, hence the selection for the trip south and leave it there.

u got any pics of the interior? Sorry for bugging you, but parts are hard to get around me

You said most everything? I can clean up interior parts pretty good with my MEG stuff, so as long as the tabs arent busted I'd take it and pay you for it...

theres gotta be some good parts in it, every car has a few

Attention boys,
The issue seems to me to be that the car needs to be picked up in Alabama. If you can't get it there, then the interior color and other questions are irrelevant.....
Just an observation.....
