Did them when I first got the car, 7 years / 100k miles ago. Used MB parts from the dealer.
That's one thing I like about the Euro 240D, no oil cooler.

I don't believe that any aftermarket hose will do as well. I still would like to find a hydraulic shop that can crimp the metric tubes. If I ever need to do the SD again, I might be more diligent and find one. |

Well, my previous theory was that the oil cooler hoses lasted about 20 years regardless of mileage. I guess I need a new theory.

For hoses produced in the years after 2000, the theory may not be valid. Now, please understand that this is not a reflection of the theory itself, but simply recognizes that the current lot of parts fail to meet the standards set for the production vehicles back in the '80s. |

When I did the oil cooler lines on the SDL I used OE ones since thats all their is. The new lines seemed to be identical to the old lines. The only change was MB made the lower fittings out of aluminum insted of steel. So in this case the quality went up.

Every time I had to sort out alarm problems I told my customers to remove the alarm and move out of Aurora. I'm guessing you work there.

Man I'm going off on mine.
Just did Diesel Giant's full filter kit. I will switching over to to synthetic soon (Mobil Delvac 1), I know she's going to love it. New glowplugs, clean out intake manifold and crossover, delete the EGR, new tires all around, replace oil level sender and oil pressure sender, and most importantly, install a stereo. I've also been taking off the door panels one at a time and repairing all the broken plastic so that I don't get annoying rattles at idle. I love how easy it is to take the door panels off on the w124.

A block heater from Diesel Giant!
Now that it's getting colder here in MD, I had my first long-crank start this week. We've been warmer than normal here most of the fall. So, I guess the luck ran out... Boy, was that an impressive cloud of exhaust!
