Is my mind locked in Gear? (Why am I always thinking about my cars?)

Its 6 am and get up to read the papers. Next, I am reviewing my day's itinerary in my Outlook.
Can you believe the first thing in my list is to stop by Pep Boys, the next item is to go to a machine shop to get some brackets to cut and the third item is a summary of my wish list for all the things I would like to fix. All of these, before " Call Daughter"; "Do financial aid"; " "Pay Bills".....
Am I some kind of nut. Why am I always thinking about Car?
In the paper this morning they had this obituary for this scientist whose entire life was Fleas. How wierd, I thought until I considered myself.
Look working on cars, keeps me young, active and Happy. I dont talk about them with friends or my daughter. I remember at the company picnic a coworker showed up with his prize restored Antique Car and just looking at it bored me, and I walked away because it was his car and not mine. But believe me I have every bolt, corner, rust spot and oring on my car indelibly etched in my mind.
Am I a 45 year old teenager? Or is this just normal behaviour?

Hmmm. I believe this is what we call a Gearhead, yes an affliction I am afraid has no cure. Years of endless searching for another problem to solve.....

Do you have a job?

Its not you. I spend my days thinking about the cars too, less now that the front end is rebuilt in the 300D, I'm now focusing on the N2O install in the marauder.....
