Hi there! I have a 240D that I am pretty sure now is going to need a new transmission. So, now I am in the midst of trying to find a transmission for my '83 240D that I got for Christmas.

I have found someone that that has one that was in a 300D, but the guy that has it does not know if it will work in my car because of the different model numbers... and neither do I... and cant really find anyplace that has that information.

I have been told that the changing the transmissions in these cars are fairly easy... but I am sure that it is helps if it is the right type of transmission! LOL!

Any and all help would be greatly greatly greatly greatly appreciated!

if you can get the chassis numbers from each car i can tell you if the units will interchange

The trans from any 1980-83 240D will work, also the trans from a 1980-81 300D NON-turbo will fit & work.

The USA 1982 300DT trans will not be a direct bolt in & will require drive shaft & throttle linkage fabrication!
