OK be honest, are you making any new years resolutions?

I am never one to make a new years resolution, never thought it necessary. However since new years is only a few days away, what is yours?

Ra_ 12-29-2005 09:14 AM

I'm afraid to make one.

Last year, I resolved to hire someone good
to help me get the boss's beachhouse looking great.

I hired the manager of the Garden Department at Home Depot
and she works a couple days a week.

We got the place looking really good.

Then we got swatted by 4 hurricanes
and it's a wasteland.

I'm afraid to make one too. Last year's was to lose weight. I started OK, but now I'm fatter than ever:eek:

1)Start keeping a "to-do" list ... I did this in college and was much more organized ... I'm not an organized person, but simply writing down a list of things I need to do and a "deadline" for each really helps.

2)Learn more about cars, investing, and the sports I cover (odd trinity, I know)

3)Gain a few pounds (obviously remaining svelt enough to be an efficient distance runner)

4)Stop worrying about everything so much.

OK, maybe that I won't even try #4.

My new year's resolution is to keep as detailed records as a can for my new '84. My '85 came with wonderful records and they were very handy. I've already got a spreadsheet started with the few things I've done thus far and I'm going to do my best to keep it accurate.

To lose the 30 lbs. that I gained LAST Christmas that I did not lose last summer, start exercising again DAILY and to get the MB in perfect order! :D

On second thought, I think I'll resolve to upgrade my safety devices.

This $655 South African device seems like a good investment.
Sometimes people might approach you with a seemingly innocent question,
when they've actually got something criminal in mind.

"Hey Buddy, got a light?"

My new years resolution is not to keep my new years resolution :D

ImBroke 12-29-2005 11:31 PM

None for me thanks, I gave at the office.

Tirebiter 12-30-2005 02:13 AM

It's an easy resolution to keep

I'm going to cut down on my smoking this year.

After January 1st I will only smoke if I am by myself.

Or with someone.:smartass2

pawoSD 12-30-2005 03:08 AM

I guess I could make some resolutions:

To get my SD's body damage on the rear right door and fender from 2 years ago (hit and run by a drunkard) taken care of. Then it can look nice and awesome and have no more rust. :D

My other one could be to not be online on the forum at 3:07am :D ;)

My goal is that before school starts back up again (the 9th of Jan.) I want my 300SD to have its water/air intercooler installed.

Went and got the aluminium today. If the rain lets off I am going to test fit and start tigging!! :)

I already did a couple of the things I have been wanting to do...I tore down my turbo injection pump (spare one) to learn how it works and modifiy it accordingly.

I'm just havin a good ole time ;)

intercooler.... Hmmmm... Thats something I would be interested in. What do you mean by "water/air intercooler" ? Are you talking about an intercooler with a water cooling loop? I heard that the pressure drop tends to be less in that type than the more common air cooled radiator type.

I hope you intend to make plans for the rest of us ;) .

Brandon314159 12-30-2005 11:58 PM

Heh I am not going to jack this thread but basically air/water intercoolers have water where the outside air usually cools the "charge". You then run the water either in its own system or uses the automobiles coolant (not as efficent...that stuff is hot!).

I'll fire up a thread once its on the car and working about how it was built, etc. :)

Same here i was supposed to go to the gym every day and loose a good amount of weight. I wasnt like really fat but had a beer belly thing going on so i went to the gym for 2 straight months and it was almost not noticable so i decided to stop and be happy with what i had accomplished. But jack in the box just kept calling my name:D

And gained all the weight back plus more

That damn jack with his jumbo jacks! and 2 tacos for 99cents!!!!:D

Brandon314159 12-31-2005 01:43 AM

I think I lost weight...usually hover around 150lbs and I think I am down in the damn 140's again.

Not suprising to most people until they realize I am 6'7" ;)
