Bluish smoke and idles rough only when cold

I recently purchased a super clean 126,000km , 92, 300D 2.5 Turbo. It blows bluish smoke and idles rough (like a miss) only when cold. All the glow plugs were replaced in Apr/04 by the local MB dealer according to the invoice from the previous owners records. Any ideas where I should look?
Thanks. PD

Just because glow plugs were replaced a year or two ago doesn't mean one, two or all aren't bad again. Some lesser brands don't last that long, and with the systems that keep them glowing for a couple of minutes after startup they seem to burn out faster.
Many threads to search for on how to check this.

I'd start with letting the glow plugs do their job well past the point where the glow plug light turns off. In fact just ignore the light and let the plugs glow for about 20 seconds. If that doesn't fix it, I'd check the glow plugs like Jimmy said.
