"The only thing the car needs is a transmission.

If it is a factory manual tranny 300 then maybe it didn't come with a tach. At least that is what I have seen. Possible euro?
Too bad I can't drive past one of those......

Euro?

You could be right. The pictures are not clear enough to tell for sure. It doesn't have alloys either. Wonder who stole the tranny?

If it's a euro, does that mean it has a NA engine with no tach?

Kind of makes perfect sense given the mileage of 198k.

Mine is a Non Euro Texas car. I think it is original tach cluster or someone did a nice job replacing it as the seal is nice. I thought it was normal for old cars to not have a tachometer, even stick shifts.

If it is not and I have a tachometer connection behind my cluster just waiting for a mate, I' d like to know.

I thought the turbos had tachs and the NA's didn't, but I may be incorrect.

Manual Transmission == my foot.

Isn't it funny this is a "manual transmission' but it has *No* transmission Perhaps that is why it is a "manual".

I love the color. Could it really have leather seats? I have never seen a 300D with leather?

If it's really an 83 300D with an original manual tranny then it's a Euro model without a turbo. Typically an older MB with a manual tranny does not have a tachometer. The only one that I know has it is the US spec 190D.

I called on the car today, and it is indeed a Euro that came originally with a manual tranny. there was WAY too much of a language barrier to really find out any specific information. If anyone here can hablo then more info might be possible.
The tranny isn't bad, it is GONE.

Joe probably needs to go check this one out!

Are you sure about the other 300Ds you've seen having leather. I know my 300D has MB Tex, and probably 9/10 of the other 300Ds I've seen also have MB Tex.
