blower issues 90 350sdl

my blower has been slow to come on lately and didn't report for duty today at all. i thought it was the delay 'til warm enough thing just taking a little longer but this seems to be more. i suppose the motor may have been failing gradually. i checked fuses. any other easy thoughts on how to get it back on duty?

and is it similar to a 123 to get out? or more like the (#$%&*@... inaccessible) 124 blower?

happy new year!

Tom, if the '90 is similar to the '84, you can access the blower by easily removing the passenger side kick panel. From there, you can apply 12V directly to the blower to see what you get. You can also put a bit of lubrication on the lower bearing, if that's causing the trouble.

If it turns out to be the blower, AFAIK, it can be removed from that location without undue difficulty. However, I did not attempt to do this on the '84 because my issue was the CCU. The blower was fine.

Happy New Year to you.

My prediction: 10,000 posts by the end of 2006.;) :D

i hope you are right. i can do those things and check it out. i get heat and the temp control seems to work but only air flow is from forward movement of the car.

happy new year to you.
