Nope, oil was full, good pressure, the PO had warned me the engine was noisy, which accounted for why I paid very little for it, but I was trying to figure out the source of the noise...the PO had said it ran low on oil and got noisy. The whole thing was a gamble anyway, in all probability it needed an engine either way, but it made one hell of a noise when it let go!

At this point, my inclination is to find another 240D and cannibalize this one for parts.
