I found this on craigslist

http://dallas.craigslist.org/car/117598530.html

i sent him an email and his reply:

To answer:

How many miles?: 293K +

whats the general shape of it? Good - No major damages

mechanicaly? sound - no leaks.. Engine good

interior? Leather getting kind of old - but still not in bad shape for the years.

a/c and heat working? yes/yes

Rust? none

anything else?

So any opinions on this one?

This was on ebay last month. I don't remember the specifics, but there was something about it that I didn't like. It was right around the time I bought my SD, so I was looking to buy... might have been the interior.

FYI....Those are NOT the pictures of the 300SDL available, those are pics from a car sold on ebay...the seller doesn't have a digital camera, so he sends those as a representation of model & color NOT condition. Also, did you ask why he was selling it?

Unless you can get it for $500., you had better take a personal look at a vehicle with 293K on the clock.

And, even if you get if for $500., sight unseen, the old adage still applies:

There is nothing more expensive than a cheap Mercedes-Benz

Thumbs up

Search for me as a poster, I drove that car personally.

Got hit from the back (easy fix), driver seat is bad, motor sounds BAD (needs timing chain at least), etc. Just ask me...

Needs about $2500 to be a good driver. I'd pay about $1000 for that car only. My SDL was a better buy from the auction.

Not enough information. You need to carefully look at it with that kind of mileage.
