I'll take anything that vents the crankcase and allow it to breathe into the can. There are cans available in the drag racing world just for this purpose - I think they're called oil breather cans IIRC (they're offered on Ebay). Or you could make one of course. But remember I'm running a mile at a time and I can just pour whatever is in the breather can back into the engine. I'll be checking to see if there's any condensate in the breather oil before I pour it back. I won't be running anything more than a simple cone air filter element so all the hoses to the stock filter assembly, etc. will need to go somewhere. Probably a different situation than anyone else on here will encounter.

If it were me, I would delete the three way, seal the hole on the air cleaner cover and install only one hose to the intake pipe with an oil separator from the valve cover. The only issue now is the Cali version oil pan does not have a oil drain provision for this new oil separator. You would just then vent it to the ground for the easiest solution.

I just ordered the part I was asking about and hopefully it is the right one.
NOt going to change anything and it doesn't sound like I have the easy option to anyways. Car has been running just fine for almost 30 years the way it is so no need to change anything I guess.

Vacuumed and put some vinyl protectant on the interior over the weekend.

looks spiffy.

Just saw this after I submitted my last post. Did you do as you suggested and if so, pics? PN's? Thanks!

I don't have any part numbers. I have a custom setup on my car from cobbled together parts, plus I don't exactly have your Cali setup. But the function is the same I was referring to less that I do have a oil drain for the oil separator in my engine.

I'll have to dig for pictures for you of other similar setups or take pictures of my setup a bit later.

Here is good information on mach4's thread about his oil separator on a Cali motor.
Built a Catch Can

The exact setup may not be for you, but the info is good regardless.

Wow... that's a scary way to meet emissions. Can the federal separator be installed in the breather? Maybe a tube to a separate container beside the engine?

It's a simple and inexpensive job to dramatically improve the factory separator. I'm pretty sure a quality catch can is fairly expensive.

Here is some pics as requested. My car is currently apart as I'm redoing the HVAC.

The oil separator is from a Kawasaki STX-12F Jet Ski. The separated oil drains to the sump.

This pic shows the Cali intake tube with a single hose attached to it.
