Super efficient, yes. But, the car is so "advanced" that it will probably do what it wants to before it will do what you want it to do - like turn itself off.

I would give up 1/2 of the fuel effiency for a less dorky look. And man, is it dorky looking.

I think the front crumple zone is somewhere between your foot to head area, and it will probably take half the trip to get up to speed. But, it is an incredible achievement.

Its just a concept car, its not going into production or anything. Think though, if it can get that kind of mileage with that form factor, you could still get some great mileage in a more 'regular' look.

There is a market for two seaters, and the 'front-back' two seater arrangement is a new one that could have some possibilities. Lots of people commute without ever having another person sit in the car.

peace,
sam

8.5 horsepower, interesting race between that and a 240D. It's all power to weight but 8.5 is quite low.

This brings to mind the VW commercial with a jockey driving a Bug with its body panels partly removed. They claimed 83 mpg. The point was, by altering the circumstances, great economy can be claimed by anyone. It finished with the line - "an honest 25 mpg"....yeah, so I'm old.

I wondered that too. I'm sure it's not too fast.

That VW is like a motorcycle with farings.
Is not hard to do as u can take a recumbent bike hook up a small 2 stroke engine to it, and build farings around the frame to make it aerodynamic.

That particular VW costs a fortune to build though.

VW 1-cyl diesel

Hmmm, I can't decide; either get in line in case they put it into production, or, go ahead with my present idea of getting a Continental V-12.
I've deicided. Continental V-12.
