air in fuel line
In an earlier post I mentioned having trouble starting my 115 unless it has been running a while. I checked all glow plugs and they are good, Then I noticed the fuel filter right before the injector pump seemed to have air in it. Is that normal?

There is usually an air bubble in the clear pre (primary) filter, its normal. If you haven't switched to the new style GPs that will really make a big difference in starting. Have you cracked the hard injector lines (one at a time while cranking) to see if fuel is at the injectors? Would tow starting be an option where you are?

How much trouble is it to change over to the new style of glow plugs?
Also, how would you check the injector pump? Once started, the car runs fine. Appreciate your comments! |

"How much trouble is it to change over to the new style of glow plugs?"
You can buy the "kit" from Phil here at Fastlane which includes the plugs, relay, and wires. I used the existing relay or you can use the new one, your choice. Be sure to say its for an "early" 240D. Its an easy job and well worth it. I wouldnt worry about the injector pump at this point. If your getting it started fuel is getting to the pump. If your hand priming pump leaks when you pump it, put that on your order, its only $20 or so. Have you adjusted the valves?
