Anybody? It looks like a fairly solid runner. I think the guy wants to us it in a demolition derby.  Maybe I'll call and see what he wants for it, but I dont have room for any more cars.

I'm already saving a 220d in Bozeman, Montana. A remarkable machine, the 220d sedan; with no power steering on mine, it is a dream to drive at speed and it is a good MB diesel for me to start learning on. If I'm alive a couple of years from now I'll be looking to tackle a MB twin-turbo six or seven years old. I love my 220D, but I don't think all the 220D's should be saved; "....into the gentle night..." and all that.

What would one of these be worth in running order?

Jimmy Joe 01-05-2006 12:34 AM

Sure looks purdy. Why kill the jewel if it runs good?

dunl 01-05-2006 01:21 AM

Only reply I got was there is a loose tie rod on driver's side....

bgkast 01-05-2006 01:26 AM

I almost bought a 220D 700 miles away for $2900. There was one advertised around here (seattle) that needed a paint job and had a marginal interor that sold for $3000. Did he say what he wants for it?

dunl 01-05-2006 01:30 AM

No response yet, but if it's really cheap, I'll tell you after I get off the plane and drive it back here. :D

dunl 01-05-2006 01:09 PM

Damm, why don't I live closer, as I was kidding about the plane ride...

hmmm... I wonder where its really at... 360 is not a Seattle area code. Looks like it might really be central Washington?? I'd be interested if I didn't already have two 220d's needing work (including a tie rod ;-)

dunl 01-05-2006 02:07 PM

Silverdale, Washington....across the river from Seattle.

C`mon.....save the damsel in distress.

dunl 01-05-2006 02:08 PM

BTW, use this site to backtrack phone numbers....
http://www.reversephonedirectory.com/

Doesn't give who it is, just that it's in Silverdale.
