Got a buddy with one of the little Mercedes RVs, but I don't fit in one. I think it has a 5'8 ceiling and I'm 6'1 in bare feet. Ever seen one? I couldn't believe how tiny they are, even by micro standards.

I've also been seeing that even the new European trailers are built like the OLD American trailers, no bathroom, full galley or anything like that... unless I've just been looking at the cheap ones.

One guy was commenting on how he ALWAYS takes his 'caravan' to France as lots of rural France still seems to use squat toiliets that they don't bother cleaning. I need to find that one, it was pretty funny.

Anyway, after I figured out they call them caravans over yonder, it made looking them up 1000 times easier.

back in the seventies

i once saw a vw beetle pulling a travel trailer which was at least 18 or 20' long. i think it was actually in switzerland.

towing here is another story. longer distances, etc. but if the car is a stick and you take it easy you prob wont have too much trouble with occasional towing. automatics require coolers or at least temp monitering.

i used to pull a small 13' tt with my saab 99 (74). it was a bubble thing like a scamp, called a love bug. weighed about 1200#. no brakes. towed nice but without brakes you needed to plan ahead. i once got my brakes smoking nicely before using the engine to slow it down in the smokey mountains. (kindof poetic).
