Check the lift pumps etc on those 6.5L and make sure they have been replaced at one point or another!

having owned six
three of which were diesels (6.2s) i will just say good luck on finding a decent one. they are pretty hard to find, especially if you get up in the nineties.

i'm kicking myself
for not looking at the one on ebay that sold for under 6k that was just near me in nh. i don't see them often, but it doesn't seem like they sell for too much when they do show up.
i'm in no rush. david

I have 2 4x4's and 2 4x2's I love them. The only time I had a problem was (as noted by "Red") when the "lift pump" in my 1998 6.5 failed while driving on the VERY BUSY 10 freeway in Los Angeles....I just knew I was gonna get rear-ended by a Semi, but a DPS trooper used his pushbar to get me out of the middle lane. The 6.2 have NEVER had any problems, they will start right up after sitting for month's. I have my 4x4's show at my Diesel Page.

Just sold my 94 6.5Ltr. K1500 Blazer end of last fall....I do miss it.
The K-1500 body was a sawed off suburban with the same diesel engine. That 6.5 ltr. engine is the original engine that GM used in the Military Hummer and its pretty much bullet proof except for the original factory injection pumps. The IP's had a component in them that was not Diesel compatable so they deteriorated over time and the pump lost power. Small pieces of the rotted component clog the injectors until the engine is fuel starved. There was a recall from GM at one point for vehicles with 100K miles or less to cover the cost of replacement with a corrected IP. Unfortunatley I already had over 220K on mine when the recall was given... so I had to shell out about $1100 for the IP and Labor. Great vehicle though.....what a tank! Nothing else stopped it in 373K miles! Highway miles with summer diesel was 22mpg. It had a 30gal. tank which gave it a cruising range of over 600 miles before the next fill. Suburbans have the bigger 35gal tank. When I sold it I was on my third set of ball joints which was not bad for a vehicle that weighed almost 6,000lbs Good Luckl
