What's a Frantz brand filter for, the oil, fuel, air?

I put one on a new 73 Camaro and drove the car for 235,000 miles with no engine trouble.

Gave it to Salvation Army then saw it 5 years later in a driveway.

Don't know if Frantz helped but it sure didn't hurt the engine.

I took it off before giving away the car and still have it and two others that I have not installed on anything else yet.

Toilet paper used to be in standard size rolls but now they look like minatures of the real product. Scott tissue still makes one that looks the right size though.

I used a Gulf Coast Filter bypass filter on my '80 TD, and my oil analysis said it was working great.

Frantz filters

I found out about the Frantz oil filters while working at White Motor Company in Dallas in the 60's. They used three roll filters on the oil and one roll filters on the fuel. These were aux filters since the engine's factory filters were left in place.

Presently I use a one roll oil filter on: 1980 300SD, 1984 300D, 1976 450SL, 1989 CK2500, and a 2001 Viper. I change the roll and Baldwin filter every 2500miles and the oil every 10,000 miles using Mobil One. I know of at least 20 clients that also use a Frantz.

The oil in the gas rigs still looks clear after 10K.

I like the concept. I'd like for a primary diesel fuel filter to replace the tiny see thru and one for the oil as well.

Now to try and find a good deal on a couple of these

I saw one on a 1995 E300D. Worked like a charm for the past 100k for that owner.

He found that if he changed the filters and topped the oil off every 2,500 miles or so he never had to change the oil. I think he had the same oil in their for 100k miles and that 606 was tight.

Makes sense the base stock never wears out its the additives that die.

I run a Motor Guard on the benz & A Gulf Coast on the Dodge Ram Cummins.

Bypass oil filters are "key" if one is looking for super long engine life.
