turn signal HELP!!!!

I have an '83 240d and I just replaced a cracked lens and bulb for the front left turn signal. The signal works fine until I turn the headlights on, then the left turn signal indicator on the dash stays lit and the left side blikers don't work. Turn the headlights off and the left side blinkers work fine. I replaced it with bulbs the previous owner left in the glove box. The bulbs are 1156LL. Any help appreciated.

Actually, I think the bulb is in backwards. Remove the bulb, rotate 180* and reinstall. I think that'll fix you up.

Had some similar symptoms when I wasn't paying attention while installing new bulbs in the 4.5.

I went to try to 180 the bulb and as I pulled it out I noticed it only had one filament in it. I pulled the right side bulb that was working and saw that the bulb was a 1157( 2 filament). So I went out and bought the correct bulbs. Works now. Thanks for the help ya'll. It actually saved me hours of frustration.
