This and other questions can be seen on the auction at the bottom of the listing. At least this seller is actively answering and posting replies on the auction for anyone who is interested to see.
Gee for $700 I could have bought a running '87 300TD. With original #14 head I am sure, but hey, I have two running '87s with the #14 head and no problems! (knock on wood!)

It never says anything in the eBay listing, Brian, its kept a secret as are all emails between the buyer and sellers.

Ahhh, yes Our (in)famous moderator. Unless B.C. means Before Christ?
I hadn;t clicked on the link to the full messages, just the front page.
I've seen people sign their name too, if they aren't afraid of the public knowing what they might be buying on eBay

When they started that system, it wasn't clear (still isn't) that the question would be posted for all to see...........so.........many folks put their name on the bottom of the e-mail.........unknowingly........and then it appears in the listing.

It certainly is OT by now but I have to say the the thing I do object to is that fact that ebay is really double dipping on profits. Given they amount of money they appear to be making they need to do alot more to prevent the large amount of fraud that occurs through both services. Other than that I have no problem with either and use them both regularily.

The "ask the seller a question" feature has become sort of tricky. Asking too insightful a question may help to better inform those against whom one may be bidding!

As an aside, eBay's facilities for allowing back-and-forth communication between buyers and sellers (both during and after the auction) stinks pretty badly, IMHO. I appreciate that some method is provided that doesn't rely on direct e-mail communication, but gee whiz, it could stand some improvement.

Exactly. I was hoping that I could keep it out of the auction.........but clearly that's impossible to do unless the seller chooses to do it.
