1984 300 cd

i have a hard down shift when slowing down with this car. rear makes a slight clunk, but inner parts seem to be ok. slight play in the spider gears. can i make an adjustment on the down shift? thanks!

Check the flex disks, and make sure that you have vacuum to the modulator.

I accidentally set my vacuum regulator (on the IP) too tight, letting not enough vacuum get to the modulator (like Matt said), and it clunked going into first. Then I loosened up the spring half a turn, and it downshifted smoothly again.
