servo problem
Last weekend I removed my servo and performed a bypass to get some heat in the cabin of my 1980 300SD. I had a vaccuum leak somewhere that kept the engine from stopping, so I re-attached the servo in the hopes that would fix it (didn't, so I'm now looking for leaks and vacuum line locally).
When I put the servo back in, it wouldn't turn on any of the air controls in the cabin. Push a button and it is like it's still taken out. Any ideas where to start? Thanks, Dunl |

it controls all of your climate control pods.......it don't work nothing else will work either.....sorry, you want it to work right thats the only option you have....you did notice the mass of vacuum lines that plug into the top.....thats why. |
I believe the reason its not working even though it is plugged back in is the vacuum leak. I suspect that once you trace down the vacuum leak, you'll get back some control from the servo.

Seems more electrical, though. I have a bypass switch to control the blower, and when I pressed any of the other controls, I used to have air blowing, but not heat. Now when I press them, the blower turns completely off?
Weird. |
I believe the electrical and vacuum controls are correlated in the servo.

Okay, thanks.:)
Now, just need to find some vacuum line locally. |

Manuel
I have a copy. anything in particular?

Yes that servo set-up is very evil indeed. To bad Mercedes could not see the wisdom in using the manual system like on the 240d.
