man, if you go on the recyler.com and look for sds around socal its crazy. there are always atleast 6 or 7 for under 2 gs.

Rich300TDMBZ 01-17-2006 02:15 AM

I wonder what kind of parts car he has for the extra $500? If someone can get hold of a nice head (#17), and install it, this can be a real nice ride and deal!

Tis a shame so many are sent away in that manner. :(

Hatterasguy 01-17-2006 12:29 PM

SOB why do the west coast guys get all the deals?

rhodes2010 01-17-2006 02:47 PM

Okay everyone. Regarding this car. It ends tomorrow.
I live 1 hour away and have the facilities to to tear it down and
rebuild it. But I have never owned a SDL, always wanted to.

He says the donor is a 1986 model with a running engine for swap.

I have seen gasoline mid 80's MBs for $2,000, so this is borderline
on price - it will be a lot of work.

I just did a motor trans swap on my 300D though (two weeks ago)
so I am pumped up and ready to do it.

Okay - guy just called me back donor car has 220,000 miles on it.
Donor car has front and side damage with cracked windshield.

Both cars have salvage titles and that means that the finished car
will have to be inspected by DMV approved facility before a title
is reissued. That is a negative.

Is the donor engine at 220,000 miles a risk ?
Also, donor car has broken oil pan from being moved with a floor jack.
So, no testing the engine until oil pan from main car is moved over.
Bummer.

Hit Man X 01-17-2006 02:58 PM

Hrm, slavage title on the clean one?

When was it issued on the vehicle?

boneheaddoctor 01-17-2006 03:53 PM

Thats going to go for less than shipping to the east coast.

Oilbrnr 01-17-2006 04:08 PM

Are you guys serious? It might not have body rust, but the interior is a nightmare. That thing has been rode hard and put away wet more than once!
