in response to this thread some very good ideas have surfaced. i will test most of those that appear fairly non-toxic.

the everclear/beer option seemed delightfully desperate.

i will report when my head permits,

cheers,

sv-

Well hell, since everybody is doing it, spiced rum is the way to go. It isnt too harsh, and has a nice flavor. You can drink it straight or with some coke or pepsi. The flavor straight from the bottle is best tho IMO.

Not that there's anything wrong with that....

just a different term. My nephew refers to his friends as "mates" because that's how they say it in GB.

perhaps

the discomfort comes from the english language. you know, 'mate' the cattle and such.

personally, reading english mags as i do i didnt notice it.

I tend to work on the "Beer a Bolt" theory, but usually by the time I get anything apart on my 300D, I am too drunk to put it back together. This gives me a good excuse to head back to the garage for another day and hide out from my wife. I do feel a little low brow, comapred to some of you, since my beer of choice is Natural Light...the southeastern staple.

No problem, obviously I don't drink much of the stuff in this thread. I suppose it doesn't make that big of a difference if it stays or goes. I just have no reason to visit it.

I have been know on certain "holidays" knock back a cold Canada Dry ginger Ale. If I am celebrating new years or a real once in a while, I will take a few shots of Apple Juice.

Alcohol is for top fuel dragsters, making bio diesel or cleaning a cut.

I'll drink whatever the boss left on the boat that won't last until the next trip. Cans dont last very long in a cooler sitting on a moving objects, as they tend to look "old" after less than a month. Two beers is enough while doing any mechanical job, more when just washing or cleaning if it's a weekend and hot. Other times just ice tea. Chivas and milk on ice is always good. Learned that one while living in the Western Pacific- really quite good.
