I like the passat TDI but if i change my car i wanna something higher then a VW
i will have to try the 300TD i believe that the accelaration will be there ( i hope so)
if not chipping is always an option.
Maybe it wasn't "fair" to compare the jetta wich is lighter manual chipped+bigger injectors with a straight car.. but it was a 1.9l vs a 3.0l...
the good part is that i felt in love with the interior of the 300

yes and both the diesel and gasser of the passat were turboed. But the 1.8TURBO gasser was slower off the line and sluggish. The 2.0T diesel was alot quicker off the line and if your not careful with your foot youll get a little tire spin when the light turns green. We could never do that on the gasser!

Chipping makes a big difference. You also will smoke a bit but it harms nothing. Are you talking about a E300 Turbo diesel since the 300 TD is a different car.

having taken a direct hit in the driver seat when I was driving a C280 and it was a T-bone accident and all that and I am fine, I would prefere the E300 if it were me.

Rocketchip makes the best chips for diesels. They have them for the E300's so you will have a much better running diesel.
