early shifts in a w124 300 diesel turbo
Hi,
Can anyone tell me why a w124 turbodiesel in first gear goes to 5000 rpm's, and in the next gears (2nd en 3rd) shifts very early, at 4000 rpm? This way the car isnt as fast in acceleration as it could be. How are the shift points set? by vacuum hoses or something like that? How can i fix this? Thanks in advance! |

I have made various adjustments to mine but find now that I just let up on the pedal to shift it when I want to. It doesn't take much, but I sort of like the control. I've adjusted it though so that it shifts on it's own out of 1st gear at about 4500. Usually I like to shift it a little lower, at around 3500.
