Neat calculator. Not diesel specific.
http://www.nightrider.com/biketech/accel_sim1.htm
Put in any car you want. Use the simple corresponding physics equations to get your numbers for frontal area, tire height, maximum torque etc. I entered in the 300SDL. At 2400, assume 201 lb/ft of torque. At 4600, about 168 lb/ft, since the horsepower peaks at that point. All points inbetween indicate a gradual descension until the hp peak. Shift point at 4800. I received this data: Summary 300SDL Turbo 0-60: 12.98 0-100: 50.05 60 ft: 2.98 @ 25.13 330 ft: 7.95 @ 47.94 1/8 mile: 12.18 @ 57.20 (58.15 actual) 1000 ft: 15.90 @ 66.41 1/4 mile: 19.03 @ 72.07 (72.67 actual) Top Speed: 129.05 @ 111.30 (17933 ft) Max Accel: 0.407G Topspeed seems a LITTLE low. I calculated a 20% drivetrain loss, 28.2 frontal area and 0.37 Cd for the W126. Next, I will work on the 350. Then, I will try my 300SE. Summary 350SD Turbo 0-60: 12.50 0-100: 45.18 60 ft: 2.90 @ 26.29 330 ft: 7.83 @ 48.38 1/8 mile: 12.05 @ 57.79 (58.83 actual) 1000 ft: 15.70 @ 67.94 1/4 mile: 18.75 @ 73.87 (74.45 actual) Top Speed: 104.90 @ 109.78 (14162 ft) Max Accel: 0.436G Summary 300SE 0-60: 9.65 0-100: 30.10 60 ft: 2.63 @ 28.71 330 ft: 7.08 @ 53.50 1/8 mile: 10.93 @ 62.87 (63.94 actual) 1000 ft: 14.30 @ 73.62 1/4 mile: 17.13 @ 80.24 (80.96 actual) Top Speed: 116.03 @ 124.34 (17970 ft) Max Accel: 0.518G So far, its not far off. I'll keep updating this post: Summary 300D Turbo 0-60: 10.63 0-100: 35.28 60 ft: 2.83 @ 26.65 330 ft: 7.53 @ 50.59 1/8 mile: 11.45 @ 61.28 (62.26 actual) 1000 ft: 14.93 @ 71.18 1/4 mile: 17.85 @ 77.35 (77.99 actual) Top Speed: 115.58 @ 118.66 (17036 ft) Max Accel: 0.452G

Its kind of hard to configure at first.
Just remember Torque = (HP times 5252)/ rpm Frontal area = L times W of vehicle dimensions (EG 4.725 X 5.975 for the W126) Tire diameter (25.5 inch = 205/65/15) Set shift points, and run the simulator. Here's a 300SD '81 - '84 Summary 300SD turbodiesel 0-60: 14.00 0-100: 59.80 60 ft: 3.05 @ 24.61 330 ft: 8.15 @ 46.57 1/8 mile: 12.50 @ 55.67 (56.63 actual) 1000 ft: 16.30 @ 64.89 1/4 mile: 19.50 @ 70.43 (70.99 actual) Top Speed: 114.78 @ 106.14 (15025 ft) Max Accel: 0.392G
