Thermostat Short Hose
When you replaced it did you just buy something at the parts store and hack it down to size?
My local store did not list one. |
You could, but if I were doing all the work to get to it, I would put the proper OEM hose on.

OEM - purchased here.

My import parts guy gave me a 3" piece of 44mm (1-3/4") which is what is supposedly called for, but it was too big. So, I just bought a simple (read cheap) hose and cut it to size. Its not at all hard to get to; just had to make a gasket for the thermostat housing where it bolts to the head.
DO NOT wirewheel corosion buildup off the areas where the hoses clamp on the t-housing. There could be serious pitting hidden under there, meaning that the hoses won't seal after cleaning. Ask me how I know. Sometimes, cleanliness is next to stupidity! |
