for your shifting problem try adjusting the cable to the trans .hold the throttle all the way open and take out all the slack this should help it shift latter.I did this but it still will shift to 4 th and not down shift with out flooring it ,I shift it manualy but need to put a kit in it if I can find one because it is my wifes driver and she does not want to have to shift it .

shake down cruise~ 86 SDL

My new used motor went on it's maiden voyage on monday!
I needed to make a 300 mile round trip up to the rim country and decided ITS NOW OR NEVER~!

It took at least the 1/2 of the 1st leg to burn off all the oil in the exaust from the toasted turbo! ITALIAN TUNE UP?

While climbing a few of our famous AZ mountains from Mesa to Payson, I could keep her above 70mph and my max temp. was one notch above 100!
I am guessing that's good!

She is not happy in the higher elevations (less power and clunky shifting)! I read somewere ther'es something that should compensate for that?

I could get the cruise to exel after about 6 seconds on the lever... but not "SET".....as soon as I let off the lever it would decelerate!...I am thinking linkage? but am not famillier with this unit!

Am still wondering about the outside temp gauge and how to change the reading to ferenhieght?

Still have an idle that "hunts".....was hoping to have a shop manual by now but I let someone else win it on Ebay as it was approaching $100!
You know who you are!.....Some thanks might be in order~~~LOL!

Cheers!
