Vacuum Pump questions

I have come to my point where I believe my vacuum pump is not operating properly. I have had a shutdown problem for a few months and also cannot get my turbo to work to its full potential. I have also been having probs with the climate control as well as the egr. I have redone quite a few lines and checked them with the trusty vacuum guage. My question is my car is a 603 with only 167k. Is this a normal time to have to rebuild the pump, or is there a more serious underlying problem?

well,

find the egr thread that is now about 5 pages long and follow instructions there.EGR blocking plate kit #3

also the thank you brian carlton thread

the acc may be the fan switch and that is available in the diy section. but first modify the egr after pruchasing a small tube of permatex.

I didn't do a good job with the description. I am about 3hg lower on everything than what the service manual says.

The Pierburg vacuum pump cannot be rebuilt. You should get a new kind, the one with 4 hex bolts. There was a recent thread where someone on the forum is taking orders for the new pump for $170, which is a darn good price.
