door unlocks slow?
Hello,
I have a 87 300SDL and was wondering how fast or slow should the doors lock and unlock? Also, is there any specific order to the doors response to the change?(driver door unlocks, then passenger, then back driver,...) When I purchase the car in early fall the little old lady(no joke) I purchased it from said it had a vaccum leak and that the ac did not work because of it. Car tested fine, tranny shifted great and doors unlocked and locked fine. I thought it neaded a recharge more than a leak. The temp here is in the 20s at night so I do not know how much if any would that effect the vaccum pressure of the car. Any thought or tips would be greatly appreciated. Cheers Michael |

I notice my locks move a little slower when it is cold. I figure when it is cold outside things are a little slow to respond.
My locks open in this order when I unlock the driver door but they are all pretty close together. 1. Passenger front. 2. Driver rear. 3. Passenger rear.

They should really all open and close at the same rate and at the same time if all is well. Vacuum leaks will cause them to operate at different speed and rates. Use the pictorial to test you vacuum system.

Maybe I overlooked something but isn't yours a w126? If so, then the door locks operate off a separate pump in the spare tire well of the trunk. It may be as simple as a flex line on the pump itself.
