2 Temp senders on a 240D?
Just curious why there are 2 temp senders on my freinds 80 240d?
The one on the right controls the dash gauge.. is the other the electrical fan? My 81 has only 1 sender ........just wondering? |

The early cars use one sensor for the guage and the other for the glow plug system. The late cars use a sensor for the temp gauge and actually measure the resistance of number one glow plug, using this measurement in place of a temp sensor.
Have a great day, |

Yes those are correct. Many times people will assume that one if for the aux fan, but that is not the case.
