That sounds like a good price if the condition is as you indicate. As far as problems unique to the model, rust seems to be a big issue (not that it isn't in general). I've looked at several Texas cars and even they have rust at door bottoms and sometimes the wheel-wells/jack-points; just be sure to look it over closely. They are truly beautiful cars--every once in a while boneheaddoctor post a picture of his and it makes me ! Good luck--I hope it turns out to be as good as it sounds! --Chris

Even California 116's have rust issues. Usually it's due to rotted out trunk and rear window seals that cause rusting in the trunk and underneath the rear package shelf. Another common issue is the disintegrating rear seat padding that makes causes the seat to look very wrinkled and shriveled up.

the 116s here, where I live.
When I bought my 300SD in September I thought I'd be all rare and stuff, having the only visible old MB in town, then of course, with all the other "rare" vehicles I've had, They started cropping up. First a 300d, then 300TD. Then I find two 450SELs for sale at an auction market here, for $1500 EACH mine's rusty, these ARE NOT. but they're gassers, which is an immediate turn off, I Love diesel, If my car ever craps out on me, I'm gonna snatch one of those SELs and dieselfy it...LOL
that's my blurb for today..... See ya round....gonna go tinker on the Benz for a few hours... GTB |
