Does aftermarket sell "new" rear fenders/wheel wells/floorpans for the W123 300D?

Does the aftermarket sell "new" rear fenders/wheel wells for the W123 300D? I have perforation on my driver side rear wheel well, and if they sold such a part, perhaps I could use my new found welding expertise to weld it on.

Painting my own car, a dream, what paint should I use?

Painting my own car has been a long dream of mine. The 300D W123 always looks best in that Embassy Dark Blue and mine is silver and I hate it. I would like to paint mine myself even if I have to do it one square inch a day.

What paint should I use. Obviously Epoxy based is out of the question. I am hoping to use Lacquer, which is wet sandable and then "buffable" , followed by Clear coat. Does this sound right? I would only do one panel a week.

Paint=patience

Never really heard of wheel well parts. Just quarter panel & lower part behind the wheel. May need to cut & weld from junkyard.
The original paint, at least on my '84 coupe I believe is enamel. But I think I would go with a base coat/clearcoat when I repaint mine. Besides good painting skills, wetsanding is the key. The first fender I ever painted came out much better than I thought I could ever do because of proper prep work.
A good paint job is proportional to the amount of time you take prepping the surface, among other things.
Where are you in south Jersey? I used to live in Jackson about 15 yrs ago & lived in Freehold back in the 60's. Paul.

Carrameow here is the mother of all links for ...well... just about everything paint, body, mods http://www.automotive-links.com/par/bod/bod.htm

In regards to painting look at the link autobodystore. There is quite a bit of DIY paint/body information.

For paint, I am sold on single stage urethane. The solid color cars look "right" and the paint is very forgiving. I have never tried basecoat/clearcoat, but it strikes me as being too hard to do and too hard to repair later when it gets screwed up. Single stage urethane can be wet sanded and buffed, like lacquer (or catalyzed enamel, which is not so great)

And, I agree, the forum on the autobody store is worth investigating. There are some pros on there and they seem willing to help, even newbies. Kinda like this forum.
