Can you describe the correlation of the 300D fuel gauge tick marks and how many gallons is in the tank? There are 5 ticks on mine, R, 1/4, 1/2, 3/4, 1/1. The marks are not linear and is widest between 1/4 and 1/2.

Fuel guage callibration is a joke.... the first quarter from full on mine usually lasts 150 miles. Then on the 2nd and 3rd quarters it drops like a stone.

The fuel tank holds somewhere around 17.5 gallons on my '83 240D, about 460 miles between fill ups.
