I need a little help on my 1983 300SD.
I removed my injectors and 4 of the 5 heat shields came right out. The one on number 3 will not come out. I spent right at 2 hours trying to get it out with no luck. It is stuck firm. If this has happened to anyone else, please let me know how you go it out. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I made up a little hook tool for things like that...a s/s welding rod ground to a point and bent 90 degrees.

be carefull, not too much taper, you dont want the tip breaking off.

Thanks for the reply. I have tried several different designs of a pick to try to get it out. This thing is stuck tight. I hate to get in there and start beating on it. It is just strange that the others were so easy to get out.
