Do the doors unlock at the same time as the trunk on a 123?

On the 123's is it possible to unlock the doors by unlocking the trunk? I began wondering this when I was able to unlock the doors at the same time as unlocking the trunk on my 124. Depending on what position the trunk lock is in, the trunk is unlocked when unlocking the doors on a 123. So should it work the other way around?

I think the only lock that has the ability to lock and unlock all of the doors is the driver's side front door.

Well that's what I'd thought but after noticing that I can unlock the doors from the trunk on the 124, I began to wonder if that was happen on the 123.

On the W123 you can't, but I know some later cars it does. The one I saw had a sticker next to the trunk latch catch when you open the trunk lid that stated this fact.

Neither my 84 or my 85 have it. I think it's a nice feature to have.

I remember reading somewhere that if you do happen to lock yourself out of your car and the trunk is still open, you can suck on one of the trunk lock vac lines and it will open your doors. I thought that was a neat trick except the odds of your trunk still being open when your keys are locked inside the car are pretty slim.

Yeah if, on a w126 body, you got locked out...you COULD make a hole in the spare tire well and pull out the football and hotwire the other terminal (there are 3...lock. unlock. ground) and get in teh car.

Or you could watch a 65 year old guy open the car from the passenger door in less time it took you to pull out the AAA+ card. When I saw that I suddenly became very saddened by my vehicles inability to remain secure to theives.
