Crutchfield says it wont fit

i was going to buy this CD/MP3 deck for my 300D, but crutchfield is telling me that it wont fit in my car. i am trying to figure out why it wont fit, and searching the old threads i am not finding anything about certain Decks not fitting.

i am thinking of just ordering it and seeing why it would not work.

I think most decks are a standard size. I've tested the same on in the Bimmer, Benz, and the gf's Honda and it fit all three. Mine came with a sleeve in case it was slightly too small for the hole.

Unhappy

Nothing personal but that deck is a bit shinny for an old 300D. They probably mean it won't fit asthetically.......(-:

Crutchfield's overpriced. Use them for research then buy your stuff somewhere else. I got a brand new Kenwood low-profile powered sub for $150 on eBay. Same item's $250 in the Crutchfield catalog.

i agree crutchfeild is way over priced. I bought some MTX rt-12 woofers for $6 each and they were $200 at circuit city.

Yeah im good at finding deals

I was thinking of getting that low profile powered sub. Where did you mount it? Do you think it would fit in the first aid box? I was thinking of putting it there if it would fit.

I bought my stereo at crutchfields only because it came with plug-in connnectors. I didnt want to cut the wires. The kenwood front speakers I purchased with the stereo didnt fit the car. The tweeters were protruding too much. I couldnt get the covers on. I might try the pioneer 4" speakers.
