Where is the central doorlock vacuum pump located on a 1985 380SE? On my '86 300SDL it is in the trunk encapsulated in a foam rubber case in the spare tire well. I believe I've read that some models have this pump located under the rear seat.

A forum member is willing to help me out by selling me the vacuum pump from a 380SE he is parting out at a very reasonable price, but is unfamiliar with the location of this pump on his vehicle.

My understanding is that this pump will fit my application.
Any help anyone can offer confirming/disputing this belief, or can offer help on location of said pump would be appreciated.

Hmmm. I have found that pump in the trunk of every 126 I've gone through. 1981 SD, 1983 SD, 1986 420SEL, 1989 300SE.

I would look in the trunk well, if it were me. Don't see how there's enough room under the back seat.
