2 questions (GP's and A sound)
Ok i have a 1980 300SD (i know my name says 79 but that is what the lady said it was that sold it to me (VIN said otherwise) and i don't know how to change my name on here). Upon start up the GP light flashes. Is this normal or is it like a diagnosis thing.
When I **** it down there is a wheesing sound. When I opened the hood I found a small cat in there.  Does everyone have one of these or is it just me. But really it sounded like it was coming from the injector area. i also some times get a slight diesel smell after the car has been running.Thanks alot happy dieseling

the smell may be coming from the return lines. are they nice new grey with a brown stripe and fuzzy or black and oozing fuel? if the latter they need changing. possibly a loose injector fuel line. are they tight?
from where in the engine area does the noise come from. off hand i can think of a couple items that have bearings that may cause a noise.
