Help me order the right @#$ bolt - please!
Hello All,
I don't know if anyone can help with this conundrum, but the parts guys at the local dealer and I have been struggling to identify a bolt that I'm trying to replace and we've now failed twice (read: we've ordered what we thought was the right part only to be disappointed twice). The bolt I'm looking for is the one that holds the clamp that holds the transmission cooling line to the oil pan on the bottom of an W124 E300 Diesel. It's about 4 inches long, with threads on the bottom inch or so and an Allen / hex socket head. To be clear: the tranny cooler line has a clamp around it that's cushioned with a rubber sleeve and is held to the oil pan to prevent it from rattling around. The bolt I'm looking for is the one that holds the clamp to the oil pan. In case you're curious, the reason I'm looking to replace this bolt is that I barely got it out because it looks like it was practically rounded inside at some prior time and I'm worried if I put it back I may not be able to get it out again! Any help you may provide would be most appreciated. Thank you all kindly for your time, -Vlad '95 E300D '03 SLK 320 (6sp) |

Thanks Vox!
That is an awesome site! Alas, my cyrillic is not what it used to be - and Russian IS different than Serbian. However, looking at the diagrams in more detail (these are the same ones the dealer was showning me) I notice that there are THREE part numbers for bolt 95. I bet the dealer was only ordering one of these. I think the solution may be here! Thanks again! -Vlad |
