What else is this tool used for?

I'm selling some parts on ebay and have listed this tool, which fits the differential drain plug on my W123s. It has one bent end though (factory bent) and one person has emailed me asking what else the tool fits. I honestly don't know. It came with one of our W123s or W114s over the years so tracing its origin is not easy. It is made by dowidat and not hazet if that helps any.

Thanks,
Tad

The bent end with the 'socket' on the side allows you to open fill and drain plugs located on the side of manual transmissions and some lube oil drain plugs. The clearance between the plug and the inside of the transmission tunnel is tight so you need a compact tool like that (or, saw-off the end of a big allen wrench) to get to the fill plug.

I also have one (that I am keeping) that is almost the same without the bend at either end. It also has a double-sided 14mm hex wrench unlike this one single sided.

Also makes a wonderful security tool when you find yourself in unfriendly company

I carry a fire hydrant wrench (all iron or maybe its brass) in my trunk for this sole purpose

Agree. I depend on something that goes bang! I can see Brandon during the carjacking, hitting the pause button, so he can get out of the car to rescue the wrench from the trunk.

That is what the 2 battery mag-lite is in my drivers door pocket for

The tire iron and/or fire hydrant wrench and/or hatchet in the trunk are for more serious applications

In the state of Oregon anything larger than a 2 battery flashlight is considered assult with a deadly weapon....

...so when I bought one I got the 2 battery one and figured I could make due if the time comes

So, that makes the car not a deadly weapon being as it only has one battery ?
