AMG Pentas

What would you say is a good price for a set of the Pentas? They look so much better than the stock wheels...

Diesel Giant 02-15-2006 05:09 PM

What is a pentas? Post a pic.

Diesel Giant 02-15-2006 06:02 PM

ok I see. Do you ever shave your beard??

imdavid28 02-15-2006 06:14 PM

Yes. I have no beard. I am also 21. :)

That is a picture of the man himself, Robert Bosch.

LOL somebody needed to get him a razor.:P

Have you got them for sale, or are you trying to buy? I'd like a set of those for my E300D.

Mister Byrnzoil 02-17-2006 05:08 PM

you could also look @ ronal r-9s, they look almost the same.

seems like anywhere from $50 to $100 each is the going rate.

you are also going to need appropriate length lug bolts (at least for the rear wheels)

RUN-EM 02-18-2006 09:22 PM

Well, didja win the auction for the pentas? Didja, huh? Huh? Huh?

Regards

Run-em

imdavid28 02-19-2006 01:38 PM

nah, there was two sets, and they went for 270 and 420

I think it will be something I will just have to wait on.

Where do you find these ronal r-9's?

Ara T. 02-19-2006 08:10 PM

They're discontinued... so ebay. You can even find them on Camaros and such, I think they are pretty popular.

POS 02-20-2006 08:52 AM

In the '80s, the R-9s were very popular. Mainly they were found on Camaros, Vettes, MonteCarlo SS and on a lot of Benzes. I bought a perfect set of R-9s a few years ago when my toy was a 1989 IROC convertible. I sold the toy before I got the rims on. Anyway, I still have the R-9s, but they won't fit the Benz right. I'll hang on to them until I get another GM "toy" someday.

They can be found on e-bay, but they're not that common of a sight; for a Benz, I'd guess the wait would be a few months at least. I paid $400 for a perfect set.

They do look hard core 80's, which is pretty sweet. They remind me of wheels off Testarosas. Well, my mental image of one anyway.

So it seems like these would be pretty hard to come by, and not something you could pick up for under $300?

DieselHead 02-23-2006 11:08 AM

I ended up with these from eBay:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1,1&item=8026714346&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT

I had to add $100 for shipping (and it took the guy a really long time to ship) but they came in great condition- some dust and a few cob webs but good paint and perfectly straight.

I had been looking for a set for quite some time and you'll notice that the item title says nothing about AMG or W123. I found that some of the best deals could be found on items titled poorly.

Good luck in your search!

I watched 2 auctions go, both had AMG in the title, but one that said "Penta" went for $428 and the ones that didnt went for $271. Crazy how it works.

I am leaning more towards the CLK 320 wheels now. They seem to be cheap and plentiful, only drawback being that they need spacers.
