Yes. In their literature Startron says that the particles are either filtered or burned. So they must assume that the product can reduce the particles so that at least some makes it through the filter.

I haven't had to change any filters yet
but I have begun treating my fuel anyway.

I'm in the subtropics, so it's a no-brainer down here...
but it probably wouldn't be a bad idea for anyone.
Ounce of prevention, yada yada.

I use a multipurpose treatment from West Marine.
I think it's called P-Mar ?
It contains no cetane boosters but it cleans injectors, etc.
The commercial fishermen down here favor it.

To follow up on that West Marine Funnel Filter...
It may remove all dirt and water...
but it flows far too slowly to be practical.

I can see it being useful for someone with a WVO setup...
but not for anyone trying to fill a car or boat at the pump.

had the fungicide, dont remember which brand, make it go on thru the filters. i have done this many times. never had to take out a strainer. it seems like i may have changed filters after sometimes though... sometimes not.

I checked out that funnell filter at WMarine. It looks to small to be practical for straining WVO.. Like it would take 1/2 hour to funnell 1/2 gallon.

I did the PO used a little back water station. I now use a big truck stop. It is pretty much the only place I fuel the SDL up at as well, and the pre fitler on that car had only one small spec of dirt in it after a year.

What got the SD is for the last three years it had been doing a ton of sitting with only a little fuel in the tank. In hindsight I would have drained the tank and tried to clean it out a bit. But I think I finally got it all.
