Talking Silly B100 Question

Hey guys!

I've just made my first successful test of Biodiesel....AWESOME

one Question....what do I do with the Glycerine???
Tomorrow I'll wash and Dry it....

I'd post pics but have no camera....

I can only liken the feeling of success to having your dog give birth to puppies...LOL

boil it outside like in a turkey pot to make sure all the methanol is out of it and let it dry in some square containers with a few drops of vanilla extract. And bada bing bada boom soap for the shower or washing your hands.

There are 2 good uses when making biodiesel, fuel for your car and endless soap for your body

EDIT: here is a site that can help you out on glycerine soap. i add the vanilla extract for a vanilla sent.

Another question

When I'm finally making bigger batches, can I pre-mix the Methoxide in gallon units and then titrate and add appropriate lye??

What's the best method of mixing large amounts of methoxide? BIG stick?

i use an aquarium powerhead to circulate and properly mix it. i just stick it in the container and plug it in "set it and forget it!" and that will properly mix it. A powerhead is used in an marine (saltwater) tank to make sure the water and salt are mixed properly. so it should be the same when mixing meth and lye.

Here is wat i use:
