Congrats. I'm dreading the thought of getting my new project car registered when its completed. In OK, when a car is sent to a junkyard, the title is destroyed. What I have to do is to get a notarized bill of sale and a reciept for everything I put on the body with no title, then they'll give me what they called an "assembled" title. I'm alreading afraid of what that'lll cost.

I got plates, title, and registered THIS pos for $150.

Just smile alot, chat with the guy a little bit, and come well dressed...

On a side note, I paied $40 for it, spent another $110 on parts/oil/gas, and beat the crap out of it for 6 months. Mommie bought plates, i shoulda just gotten temp tags ($5)

All I had for paperwork (at the dmv... i bought it with a smile and a laugh, and $40... got the BOS mailed to me a month later)was a bill of sale, and the P/O neglected to tell me he never registered it :o

Worked out allright, I guess...

Good luck

i have a problem .. she seems to be driping an amount of oil im concerned about.. ive looked and the lower oil pan gasket looks like its wet and i know i just put the new valve cover gasket on after my failed valve adjustment

but could a wet oil pan gasket cause driping.. i need to clean the engine to trace everything down.. plus i think i need a new oil pan since this one has a lil dent in it

i need to do an oil change today ..

another question

my high beams only work on one side.. i switch to high and the entire left side assembly shuts off and onlt the right side high beam works. but my low beam and fogs work perfectly solutions?

Might want to check fuses. I noticed while in my fuse box yesterday that there were separate fuses listed for high beams right and left.

Well I would agree with the first item, but here in Okla you know the "Tag Offices" are usually run by women who typically know nothing about cars and would prefer to stay that way. I certainly would never dress in greasy or dirty clothes for a trip to the Tag Office, but I sure would not dress well. They will think you are rich and try to stick it to you.

Don't get temped to go out driving till you are legal.....the punishment for driving without a liscense is mighty steep in some states. I've seen people taken out of the courtroom in handcuffs after being convicted of driving without a valid license here in VA.

Yeah, i didnt mean suit and tie... but dont show up in a wife beater, jeans, and a mullet... extra points for greasy spots...

decent shirt, clean jeans, and cut hair... Yeah, goes longer than it should, but it does.

I couldnt see registering cars with no knowlage to them... wtf?

Dont be stupid when driving illegally... Go the speed limit, make sure all your lights work, and your tags are current.

Ive never taken anything out illegally... Especially not my dearly departed mazda, the benz, or the honda shadow.

Yeah it does but several of the "adults" I work with do this every day. I work in a grocery store out in the sticks and the adults that work here full time aren't exactly the most sucessful people in the world. Don't get me wrong, they're really nice, they've just had their licenses suspended for DUI's and the like. A friend of mine's mom drove for eight years with no license, just took it really carefully. I, personally, am terrified of even getting a speeding ticket. I couldn't imagine driving w/o a license.

Oh man when I went in there I recognized one of them because she worked at the deli in my grocery store not six months ago! To give them credit, there is one really nice lady who knows a lot whose line I always try to go through. The rest don't know much besides how to give out sticker tags.

I fought against things like this for years, but the above is a good piece of advice. Just because you understand that the way a person dresses doesn't tell what type of person they really are, it doesn't mean that some yahoo out there (most, you'll come to learn) - DON'T understand that. :(

Good luck, and be a responsible and sensible with your driving as you have been with getting this vehicle roadworthy. ;)

One of my nightmears well other then smacking a dear is getting smacked by someone without a license.

I can just imagin it now I am cruising in my freshly painted SDL and some pos Honda smacks me. Driver gets out oh sorry no license and insurace. Well other then then the satisfaction I will get out of punishing them to the full extent of the law what else can I do? I'd sue them if they had anything worth me taking but chances are they are broke, so that would be a waste of time.

Don't drive without a licnese and insurance, because if you hit me you will be hurting.

1badav 02-20-2006 12:28 AM

If driving and worrying about being hit by someone without insurance is a fear of yours, you certainly wouldn't have the requisite stones to drive here in WI then. There's a large illegal hispanic population here that not only doesn't have insurance---they don't even have a license! When they have an accident they take off back to Mexico 'cause they know the cost to pursue them and prosecute them is so high they won't ever be held accountable. Best thing to do is back off and give 'em pleeeenty of room:sombrero:
