Vac line question

I searched.

Where can I tap into the vac lines on an 1984 300D to test the door lock "pods"? I've read about the connections being under the carpeting, but the lines are covered with black plastic, and I don't see any connections when I pry back the covers.

Also, is it normal to hear a hissing sound (air leak) near the oil filter housing for approximently 30 sec after shutting down the engine?

I'm asking all this because my engine would not shut down until I isolated the door lock check valve from the 5 way valve.

Here are two photos of where my door lock vac lines are. There should be two. A yellow w/ a red stripe and a yellow w/ a green stripe. Both of them should go to a 3-way connector, which is where you can tap into the lines.

The vac lines run under the black cover on the left side of the photo, and you can see them at the end near the seat.

Hopefully this is helpfull. You can always pull the door pannels off and check the lock actuators themselves too.

Thanks Biodiesel300TD. I'm going to test those lines when I get a hand pump. Can anyone comment on the "leak" near the oil filter housing?

the hissing is a leak... You get to replace your connectors, and a line or two if your lucky. I did that a few weeks ago, and its fun...

Apply soap to your hands before you do it, like hand cream or whatever... When your done, everything will come off easily when u wash.

Thats something easier then the door pods, I think...
