I have a small area (1/4x2 inch) that the clear coat is gone from. Can I repair this? How can I replace clear coat?
Help! The car looks great otherwise.
This spot is in a very noticeable area.

If the clear coat has begun to whiten and flake off, there is not too much you can do long term. I have done some repairs on non Mercedes cars, but it hasn't been too successful. The way I did it was to wet sand the clear coat around the bad area and then use an aerosol clear coat to touch up. You can try the stuff you get in auto parts stores or you can get a little better quality at an auto paint supply house. The aerosol is used by the pros for "cut in " work, door jambs and the like. you didn't say where this area is located, but if it is like the top or bottom half of the door, mask off and spray that whole area....like the whole top half of the door. Look for "Break Lines"...like the door side moldings, or a crease line or edge in the fender. Doing one small spot would stick out like a sore thumb....do a whole panel and it becomes less visible.

However, for a spot that small, I'd prep it, tape it off, and drive to the nearest auto body shop to let them shoot it (check in with them first).

The paint is turning white and going bad on my SDL as well. Take the car to a body shop and they will sand and paint that panal. If it is a light color car and the paint is in real good shape it should match well. If its black, black is tough to get right.

Let me guess the bad spot is either on the trunk, hood, or roof?

ive given up hope on reviving my roof, i peeled a piece off that was as big as a pringles chip.. -sigh- it needs to be repainted no point in touching up.. im thinking black . or a nice maroon

The spot is on top of the right rear fender just where it turns down. I thought about spraying it with some clear gloss but I'm not sure if I would make it look worse that it is now.

You will probably be best off going to the dealer and ordering a small touch-up bottle of the MB Lacquer, sorry no PN on hand, but it comes in a handy 12ml touch-up bottle. Brush or use the roller tip to fill in the area and then wet sand or machine/glaze polish the area once completely dry to blend in and or remove irregularities.

Make sure NOT to use incompatible clear coats, acrylic and poly coat will ruin a lacquer finish.
